Less than one week after her court-ordered release from her unlawful detainment by ICE, Elvira was required to check in at the Milwaukee ICE facility. She arrived well in advance of her 8:00 am appointment, only to be kept waiting outside the locked doors, along with others who had early appointments, while ICE called for Milwaukee Police Department support, due to the large, peaceful crowd gathered to support her. Eventually Elvira and the others were allowed in, and we are thrilled to report that she emerged about 40 minutes later, with another check-in appointment scheduled for the end of August!
